About the Authors of "Equality! Secret of Lasting Love"

Ron and Elda Soderquist together led a family counseling center in Southern California for more than twenty years before they sat down to write a self help book for couples.

They chose the theme EQUALITY because, over and over again, couples – both married and unmarried – revealed they desperately wanted to enjoy an equal, mutually respectful relationship. These couples wanted equality but they didn’t have the tools or skills to make it happen.  Soderquists’ EQUALITY book provides practical exercises and guidelines for any couple who wants to achieve a vibrant, healthy relationship with good communication and delightful sex.

When Elda (Thompson) Soderquist earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy she had already had careers as a Registered Nurse and high school English teacher. She quickly discovered her medical and teaching experiences were wonderful resources as she guided families and couples into healthier, happier relationships.

Elda is also mother of two daughters and a son and their four beautiful children now call her “Grandma Elda.”

Writing poetry is one of her hobbies and you will find two of her poems in the EQUALITY book.  She is currently collecting her poems into a book.

Elda and Ron are world travelers, history buffs and students of world religions. Most recently they have enjoyed exploring the countries and culture of Turkey and Egypt. They have been guest lecturers in Russia, Australia and England, teaching both marriage counseling and medical hypnosis.

Ron Soderquist, Ph.D. has advanced degrees in both clinical psychology and pastoral counseling, the latter a Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary. As a young man he served as a parish pastor but he soon realized his natural gifts were in the field of counseling. This specialty led him to serve as Director of Counseling at both St. Olaf College in Minnesota and California Lutheran University in California.
